THE STORY OF OUR COMMUNITY

100/103, BURLING, ROSCAM, GALWAY

This community, at 100/103 Burling, Roscam, Galway was founded in January, 2006 by Sr. Laura Boyle, and Sr. Madeline Houlihan because a new Parish was being established in this locality. The Sisters came to minister in the Good Shepherd Parish.

The community is situated on the outskirts of Galway city in the Doughiska/ Roscam/ Ardaun areas. The living accommodation comprises two apartments. Sr. Laura Boyle came to live in an apartment in September, 2004 while on Sabbatical. In 2005 a second apartment was purchased.

With regard to the Ministries of the Sisters here, Srs. Madeline and Laura minister in the parish. Laura is a part-time, pastoral worker and is about to set up her practice as psychotherapist. Sr. Madeline uses her gifts as an artist and visits people in the community.
