Come and join us at the Soul Full Cafe, in the Third Space Café in Smithfield, Dublin 7 on Friday 13th April from 6.30 pm – 8.30 pm. This will include a conversation about a remarkable local woman – Teresa Mulally. The format of the evening will be Mindful Workout with Iseult White, a ‘Story to Inspire: Local Legend Teresa Mulally’ and Music.
You will hear the story of the local spiritual visionary, Teresa Mulally who was born in 1728, in Pill Lane. At the age of twenty she moved to Chester in England, to live with an elderly relative.
She set up as a milliner, and secured a good standard of living. By the age of thirty-four, both of her parents had died, and her thoughts turned more and more towards a spiritual enterprise, but she was reluctant to take the first step. In due course she purchased an old three-story house, through the appeals made for donations to purchase the building and to furnish it. In striving to ensure its future, she had purchased a plot of land on George’s Hill for the religious community with whom she hoped to co-partner into the future.
In time the Presentation Sisters came to George’s Hill, an inner city area with schools, prisons and other services similar to the dream of Nano Nagle.
